The Founder of the Brighton Area Schools Pack of Social Emotional Learning Dogs
Karen Storey is a member of the Brighton Community and has been a teacher in the Brighton Area School District for the last 17 years. Karen grew up in Brighton and attended Brighton Schools. She has four boys who all attend Brighton Schools; Easton, Jack, Anthony and Leo. Her husband Scott works for Brighton Area Schools as a Behavioral Management Specialist.
Her heart and vision have always led her to support anyone she comes into contact with. She looks for unique ways to maximize relationships and provide support to all people. She has a true gift of seeing the best in people and supporting them to be the best that they can be. Her unique gift of looking outside the box to find solutions and support for students, staff and the community is second to none.
Our Pack of Dogs is a perfect blend of relationships, support and thinking outside the box. Each and every day the impact that this program is having on our Brighton Community and it’s schools is unbelievable. What started off as a small and heartfelt idea has blossomed into an experience that I am truly thankful for. Not only do you see the power that Our Pack of Dogs has but the opportunities it has provided to people that were beyond my vision.
